1on1 Coaching

1on1 coaching sessions are ideal to receive personal instruction, get feedback on your technique, and are tailored to your specific needs in a supportive environment.  1on1 sessions occur in NYC or San Francisco (otherwise travel expenses are additional) and can include:

§  Personal coached rides or runs with technique/form instruction
§  Swim workout and skill instruction
§  Mental training session
§  Triathlon transition skills coaching
§  Strength training
§  Race support

Mental Skills Training

With all of your dedication to your workouts, crosstraining, stretching, and strength work throughout your training, it is likely that you will spend a significant amount of time physically preparing yourself for race day. At Mind Body Endurance, we believe that mental preparation is equally important and that mental skills should be developed and integrated into your training in order for you to be best prepared to achieve your peak performance. As a result of this philosophy, we offer individual mental skills training to ensure that you maximize your efforts training and racing. These sessions are tailored to your unique needs and are intended to:

1. Help you become more aware of how your thoughts influence your training/racing

2. Evaluate the degree to which your thoughts are facilitative or debilitative toward your performance and influence your enjoyment of training/racing

3. Develop strategies you can implement into your training to further develop and strengthen specific mental skills

Mental skills training sessions can take place in person, over the phone, or through Skype. Common topics in these sessions can include (but are not limited to):

  • Effectively managing pre-race anxiety
  • Assessing and improving your self-talk
  • Implementing goal setting throughout your training/racing
  • Improving self-confidence
  • Effectively managing discomfort when training/racing
  • Developing a race day mental training plan
  • Recovering from an injury
  • Combating burnout/over-training
  • Excelling in pressure situations
  • Enhancing and maintaining motivation
  • Improving concentration and your ability to manage distractions
  • How to implement imagery/visualization into your training/racing
  • Dealing with pre-race anxiety/jitters

* We are also available to present a workshop on any of the above (or additional) topics for groups/teams.

Online Triathlon, Duathlon, and Marathon Coaching

Mind Body Endurance Coaching provides individualized online triathlon, biathlon, and marathon coaching services to athletes of all skill and ability levels. Your scientifically-based, periodized training program is developed according to your physiology, heart rate, and lactate threshold and will be managed through Training Peaks online software. Field tests will be used throughout the training plan to establish your training zones/pacing and to measure fitness improvements. Athletes will be assessed throughout the training plan and your coach will review and adjust your program based on your feedback.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Your coach will customize your training program to your specific needs using information from your athlete profile questionnaire, field tests, race schedule, and specific goals. 

Your coach will review your heart rate files and power files on a daily basis and will adjust your program accordingly.  
Frequent coach and athlete-initiated communication is encouraged.
 

Your coach custom builds your training program each month. Your coach regularly reviews your program, heart rate files, and adjusts your program accordingly.

Consistent athlete-initiated communication is encouraged, and will be responded to in a timely manner. 

Your coach builds your training zones and designs your program to optimize performance.  

Your coach regularly reviews your program, monitors your progress, and adjusts your workouts to accordingly to maximize your training efforts.
