Our registered dietitians help high performing athletes have a positive relationship with food, weight and body image.
Not taking in enough fuel for performance can have drastic effects on an athlete’s body, including causing injuries to heal slowly, hormone & endocrine dysfunction, bone remodeling to cease and digestive issues to escalate.
As sports dietitians trained in eating disorders, the Mind Body Endurance Performance Nutrition team understands the intersection of nutrition and eating disorders. Athletes have unique challenges associated with mealtime dynamics, weight, body composition and exercise. We support competitive and casual athletes at all levels by using practical, realistic and evidence-based nutrition recommendations.
Similar to sport, we value the team and believe in a collaborative approach working closely with MBE mental health providers and other treatment team members. Mind Body Endurance dietitians are also available for presentations and consultations for teams and organizations.

About Kate
Kate earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Connecticut. During her dietetic internship, she worked at EDCare in Denver where she gained experience treating high-performing athletes with eating disorders through the Athlete EDGE program. Kate also has experience working with individuals in eating disorder recovery as a mentor through the Eating Disorder Foundation. Additionally, Kate is a Nutrition Expert at Voice in Sport™, a platform that advocates for and supports girls and women in sports.

She remains connected to DU as a researcher in the Bodies, Eating, and Emotions (BEE) Lab where she studies weight stigma, trauma, and disordered eating in marginalized populations.
As a clinician, Kate is particularly interested in working with athletes to improve their relationship with food and body so they can achieve their biggest dreams in sport and life.
In her free time, Kate enjoys running, baking, writing, skiing with her family, traveling, and meeting with friends over coffee.
Kate believes food is so much more than the energy it provides. It is social, cultural, emotional, and, above all, should be FUN! She practices through an anti-diet, weight-inclusive lens where her philosophy is human-first. Human before student. Human before athlete. Human before anything else. Her passion lies in helping those with eating disorders relearn to trust their bodies and find food freedom while continuing (if they so choose!) to compete in the sport they love.
