2023 Spring Groups
MBE Recovery in Sport Group
Description:For many athletes, sport can be protective of health and recovery while for others, it can throw them back into a toxic culture centered around body-related pressures, nutrition focused conversations and training designed to push the body to extremes. These challenges can be difficult and overwhelming to navigate. The MBErecovery in Sport Group is intended to allow a space for athletes to be honest and supportive of one another to fully engage with, and leverage, the opportunities in both sport and life. This group is intended to be in addition to, rather than in replacement of, working with a multidisciplinary outpatient treatment team.

Each session will introduce new skill(s) and provide practice to implement outside of session.

Optimizing Performance through Self-Care
Description: The way we train our bodies is a big part, but not the whole picture for sport performance. How we breathe, respond to hunger cues, and talk about our bodies can also have a significant impact on performance. This group will help to combat some of the myths about what an athlete’s body needs to look like and how to care for our body. We will explore some tools to help work with the body, rather than against it. Over eight weeks, we will cover the following themes to help you better express your potential on and off the field:
Our sport psychologists, mental health providers, and sports dietitians work with athletes on:
